8 p.m…
Good evening!!
As the saying goes, “the one constant about life is change…” ![]()
As we worked through discharge planning today, several changes are in play…
• We won’t find out until tomorrow which day we will travel for the UCSF clinic next week. It will be Monday or Tuesday depending upon Irene’s blood platelet counts reported tomorrow morning. I am actually pushing for Tuesday because of the next bullet point…
• Dialysis will now be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the Watsonville Dialysis Center. At least for the foreseeable future! The Santa Cruz dialysis center doesn’t have a chair available at this time. The driving distance from our home is about the same and the Watsonville location is just a few blocks from the InterWest office. So it won’t be bad at all…!!
Irene had a good day of relaxation and some minor nausea but was able to keep food down.
We had great encouragement from Dr. Damon who told Irene that she will need 4-6 months of recovery before she will be feeling really good again. Those words really helped her envision appropriate time-line expectations.
The UCSF nursing staff is amazing…. We are so grateful for their competency and caring attitude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully by this time tomorrow evening Irene will be HOME!!!!!!!
Thanks for praying and caring for Irene’s complete healing and recovery!!!
