First morning consult with the UCSF Kidney Transplant Team. Irene’s obviously tired but pushing through the process. The NEW kidney is functioning and producing … a great start … target discharge date from UCSF is Wednesday, New Year’s Day, January 1, 2014!!!

We received a call this morning at 5.45 am from the UCSF Kidney Transplant Center. Irene is admitted and currently undergoing dialysis prior to a kidney transplant scheduled for midday.

Irene is now in recovery; the transplant was a SUCCESS….!!!!!!!!!!! Please continue to pray!

As GREAT as Irene did over the Christmas holiday, today has been incredibly DIFFICULT. Her dialysis routine has changed because of the holidays; today is a recovery day…tomorrow she’s back @ dialysis. Today’s been RUGGED; unyielding nausea, arm pain, chronic fatigue & emotionally challenging. All I can do is be silently present and serve her needs.
