5 p.m.

I consider myself a fairly optimistic guy.  In other words, I long to look for the upside opportunity instead of being critical.  So, suffice it to say that I am going to take the “high road” on this update……..so read between the lines……..

Dialysis did not go well today.  Irene experienced another needle INFILTRATION…..she’s again experiencing insufferable discomfort and already limping from the groin puncture she endured from yesterday’s arterial access for the fistula XRAY in her arm.  Chronic nausea set aside, this is getting ridiculous……….

Yesterday, @ UCSF, Dr. Charles Eichler, Irene’s vascular surgeron, after performing the surgical procedure yesterday, commented to both of us that there is NOTHING WRONG with the fistula in her arm and that she should NOT be experiencing ANY PAIN…at all………  Geez……I wonder where the problem lies……since it’s been repeating itself over and over again for MONTHS at the dialysis center……..do the words “user error” mean anything here……??????????

Irene was more gracious in her communcation today than I would have been…….let’s hope for a better solution on Friday…..otherwise she may have reinforcements…..

FRUSTRATION is the defining word today……….
