Irene, what a beauty you are and how glorious to watch you enjoying that fabulous cheesecake, so light and fluffy and airy….so different from the dense cakes here with the graham cracker….this one was definitely unique and special, just like you!! Tomorrow we are at UCSF to meet with a Cardiologist to discuss Ben’s heart amyloid and then we’re back on Monday to again meet with our hemo/oncologist (where we met you) to talk about treatment options and then again back on Tuesday which is liver transplant clinic follow up day. We are grateful to have met you and Dave and isn’t it just a blessing how illness brings together the most special people, even with our differences!

    Hello beautiful couple,

What a busy week we have ahead of us. We met with a lovely cardiologist on Friday who is helping us to coordinate all appointments with the various specialists. Monday is our follow up with hemo/oncol to talk about chemo. Tuesday is liver clinic day over on the 6th floor and the discussion will talk about chemo protocol and the effects it could have on the new liver, such as putting it into rejection. Thursday is the right heart Cath test with doctor Rame to test the heart’s pressure which is getting worse. By Friday, we should have much more info including a discuss on whether it’s wise or not for Ben to go to Mayo in MN to talk about clinical trials or experimental treatments as he’s willing to try anything. His heart is in pretty bad shape.

Sending you love and healing strength as you fight your courageous battle! Love Deb in Marin County….”
