I have come that that may have life and life to the full.
John 10:10
Jesus promises his followers that they will live the VICTORIOUS and ABUNDANT life and who wouldn’t want to live that way? Compared to “winning” and “plenty”, who of us wants the opposite: “losing” and “lacking”?

I am convinced that living the victorious and abundant life is achieved through SELF-DENIAL rather than that of SELF-INDULGENCE. It is admittedly counter intuitive. We unknowingly assume that if our many earthly appetites are satisfied being content and fulfilled will naturally follow. This verse validates my thesis:
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I that live but Christ lives in me. The life I live, I live by faith in the Son of God who loves me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20
Crucifying and denying our human indulgences, combined with placing Christ first in our lives ushers in the abundant and victorious life. The greatest testimony and body of evidence to that claim are illustrated by Irene’s journey of faith …. even on the brutal Amyloidosis trek.
Irene, Jocelyn and I quietly celebrated my 52nd birthday today. It was great to relax and savor the day.
I have come that that may have life and life to the full.
